I also hunt and fish but not as much in the last 10 years with all the extra weight. I hunt mostly in NJ and fish at the shore. Jersey deer hunting I think may be among the best in the US.A lot of seasons for doe's and a long bow season with very liberal limits, one thing though the woods can be crowded and no rifles.   Willie

I got one heck of a workout on Tuesday, I had to ride my bike a good 1/2 mile with a ton of stuff, I ended up getting one goose.  In the past I would of be whipped but not this year.

Let's bring this thread to the top . . . I have continuted to hunt with a passion and now with my 80 lb weight loss it is become much easier.  My son Andrew and I do much of our hunting in S. Illinois with an outfitter(Skillet Fork Outfitters).  Last weekend we were hunting with muzzleloaders and really knocked them dead(pun . . LOL).  We killed two bucks that are close to recordbook size and are the two largest taken with this outfitter ever. . .

This is my buck( 13 pt - 170 B&C gross score ) .. .

My son Andrew's buck( 16 pt - 183 B&C gross score ) . . .

I am still planning another 80 lbs of weight loss and I will really be feeling well. . . the sky is the limit.  So, let's not make excuses as to why we don't get out in the field and hunt or fish . . . pick it up and do it.  We only have one life here and let's live it to the fullest.

That's great on your WL . . . and keep up the hunting.  You have this weekend to get out with your 2nd firearms season . . Right?  I have just acquired a lease in Ohio for next year.  Me and 3 buddies will be teaming up with some guys that have had the lease for some time down in Jackson Co. which is SE of Columbus.  They are allowing us to come down to survey the lease and hunt for 4 days during the late muzzleloader season Jan. 9 - 12.  600 acres for 8 guys and a couple of those guys only hunt 1 - 2 days.

If all goes well then we will be hunting bow and muzzleloader down there in between all the hunts I have here in Michigan and my favorite place S. Illinois.

Hey!!! What are you doing in the Men's Connection . . . . LOL  Georgia???  I can't hardly detect your accent in your posting . . . LOL   I love a lady with a Georgia accent . . . If I can figure it out I will certainly get you some venison steaks.  I love venison and it is the best red meat there is for dieting.

And we have plenty of it and more to come.  Going back out this weekend here in Michigan for some herd management(doe hunting) and will hang a couple more.  If you know anybody traveling from mid-Michigan to Georgia I would be happy to wrap up some steaks and send them your way.

Hi Guys,

I know, I know, I'm not supposed to be in here poking around the men's forume...But I'm not so sure I agree that this thread was posted just in here to begin with....hehehehe

I have been hunting & fishing since I was old enough to do both...first w/my Dad then with my husband...The difference now, I really, REALLY enjoy it, now that I can walk through the woods without dying from being so overweight! I never let it stop me, but I actually look forward to it now!
Even if it was like this year, just walking my gun through the woods! LOL ; (

However, please see attached pics:
First year after surgery, my first deer ever!!! Taken shortley after the 1 shot it took me to take him down!!! (Yes, lots of firsts!) (I was on the rifle team in highschool too, before it was "not allowed").
The picture the local newspaper published of me.
My fat picture just before surgery of me & a very nice trout!

PaPaBob - AWESOME pics of you & your son w/massive bucks!! Kinda puts my PA 8 pointer to shame! LOL But still awesome!!

Thanks for letting me but in & share my pics!! I'll subscribe to this thread incase anyone updates I won't miss it this time! It's great to see everyone getting out there & doing things they love again!!!

You are more than welcome in here on our hunting thread and the Men's forum . . . LOL . . . I was just kidding below . . .

Those are great pics and I especially like the last one with the "New You!!". . . and that great Michigan buck.  I have plenty of bucks like that and pictures of the Big Bob and his prize . . . but that is a thing of the past and the pics from this next season are going to be even better. . . maybe not as big a buck but certainly I will look better . . as I still have a ways to go in my weight loss.  What I like the best is my ability to get into my hunting clothes without help of a crane and come-along to get all the zippers and snaps completed.  LOL  LOL

Anyway, keep up the great work on your WL and keep on hunting. . . it is a real pleasure to know a woman hunter that has the same passion as I do.  I live from deer season to deer season in my head rather than the normal calendar.  Already planning my hunts for this fall.

Update:  Looks like I have a small klinker being thrown at me in the form of the need for "Hip" surgery.  Damn thing has been getting worse and worse since last September and it is to the point where I catch the worn spot in the joint and just about fly thru the roof with the pain.  Can't keep this up so have an appointment with the surgeon on the 14th and tentative surgery for replacement on May 17th.  That should thro a hitch in my WL as I will be immoble for a bit as I get back on my feet.  Shouldn't take more than 2.5 - 3 months to be back to normal without any ill effects.  I am looking forward to that day.  I have an Elk hunt in the Rockies for 3rd week of September so I have to get this done ASAP so I am ready.  how's that for incentive.

Bob,
Sounds like perfect incentive to me!! But I have the same outdoor fever as you boys!!! I would also be upset that it was cutting into my Spring Turkey and fishing seasons!!! LOL, not to mention camping...LOL, but look at the awesome year you will have starting this fall!!!! Definitely great incentive!!
Keep up the excellent work, you will get there!!!!
And thanks for allowing me in the boys section!! LOL
