Well I just went for my consult on Friday Jan 16th and everything went well. I am going to do the Lap Band surgery and luckily only need to have the psych evaluation prior to surgery. I guess this is a two part question Is there anything in paticular that I need to worry about saying or not saying that would prohibit approval for surgery during psych eval? Secondly For the 6 month dieting records does anyone know what that is exactly and how specific insurance is going to be? Just new to the boards and extremely nervous about approval since I only have a small window where I am covered under insurance to have this done |

Heather: I had the psych evaluation and it went fine. The female dr. I saw just wanted to make sure that I knew what a difference this was going to make emotionally and that I had some coping strategies and support available to help me cope with the changes I would experience. I have always been an "emotional" overeater, and she helped me come up with a list of things I could do, rather than eat, when I had a problem. The evaluation was a lot easier than I was anticipating. Try not to stress yourself out about it. |

For your psych eval don't have any suggestions. I do know for your month diet documentation please make sure you get that right. I might have to do mine again. UGH !!! Please make sure your doctor weighs you, documents what kind of diet and how many calories he/she suggests, and an exercise program for example for the next 2 weeks walk for 15min. 3 days a week and up it to 30min. after that. If you can, see a nutritionist at the beginning of your 6 month suprvsd diet. Hope that helps __________________
