Sorry everyone.  I have been really bad about the computer lately.  I think it has to do with haveing my school on the internet that makes me not like being on the computer much.  I had my second drain pulled and schedualed my appointment for my 3rd. drain and stiches to be removed on tuesday at Barix in yippsi.  I am not taking any pain meds anymore.  I went to Walmart to groucries with my hubby but he made me use the morterized cart and he pushed the food.  I hated that but even worse we started to argue about the list that I made and I started to laugh which I do not have to tell anyone "IT HURT" it was so bad that I strated to cry.  I could not tell if I was crying from being in so much pain or if it was from laughing.  Every since that I have been able to tolerate more than before.  I am taking it easy and can not wait to have the next appointment.

Thank you for thinking about me.

Kim you looked wonderful when I saw you. I go back the Tues before Thanksgiving...when is your next appt? At your next appt take the binder with you, cause they will put it on you. I no longer need it just some Spanx or flexies now...I personally like the Spanx better but the Flexies are cheaper at Kohls...

Cindy,
Thank you for the tip on the cost.  I am in the binder know and it is definatly a love/hate relationship.  I love it when it is first on but after I am sitting for any length of time it bunches and starts to hurt.  I can not take it off and start over because it is like WWIII and I know that I will lose.  LOL  I am left spending a lot of time in the bathroom tugging on the bottom and the top untill I releave some of the uncomfortableness.  It is worth it though.  I think that most of my appointments from here on out will be in Holland, Mi.

So you didn't wear the compression garment right away.. I woke up from surgery with mine already strapped on.. and in stayed on 24/7 for the first 4 to 6 weeks.. I guess I am so used to it.. it was always comfortable.. or maybe even its a different kind.. I was just told today not to wear it now.. feel naked  without it...

Nope Julie Dr Hing puts them on you after the drains are out. 2 weeks post op. I had to wear it 24/7 the 1st week then only during the waking hours week 2 and then onto to spanx. Yes the compression garment was not fun, yes it felt good in the AM, but by night time I was over it. the 2nd week was way easier to deal with.
Julie do you have or Kim do you have swelling in your lower tummy area? I did but it's finally going away.

Yes I have swelling in the lower abs and in the lower area from that.  I feel that the middle is going to jump out and attack someone.  LOL   Sometimes the area right between the girls is uncomfortble and swollen but I think that might have to do with the bra that I am wearing at that time.  I just change into a sports bra and it helps a little.

My abdomen is still a little swollen, Dr DiNick said that is could take months to completely go away..  as for my chest. which is now a 36C... its like just above where the girls are now that's tender.. I think that though is because by the time I was 15 I was in a 34 E bra.. so thinking back I don't think they were ever where they are now.. Per Dr DiNick I put some moist heat on them a couple times a day and that helps alot.. Helps with the swelling in the abdomen too.. I have just in the past week stopped wearing the compression garment.. I guess I got so used to it.. at first I felt like I was going to get hurt not wearing it.. but it feels good now not to have it on...still padding my bra because of the tenderness but all in all.. I think I am doing well... and the outcome is terrific.. the scar from the vertical now is already so thin and I can see how in 6 months to a year you won't even see it.. Bikini.. here i come. (NOT) Sorry this is all rambled together.. kind how I feel today.. Rambly..

I am happy that your pleased with your surgery.  I know that I will be when all of the swelling goes away.  I hate to say this but I think that know that I have lost 100 # and gotten the skin taken away it will be easier for me to get a job in the health administration.  I think that they will think that I will not be a burdon to their health insurance over someone who is heavier.  Maybe I am wrong but that is how I feel today about this topic.  Just wanted to ramble along with you today.  I had to take a vicodin for the pain of being up at my part time job and trying to wear my jeans today.  Was the first day in jeans and was probably to soon for me.  I learn the hard way.  LOL

I tried to wear jeans yesterday and they were even bigger ones but by noon they had been traded for my Army sweats... so stylish.  I have to go see Dr DiNick on Wednesday. You are already back to work... I am not even scheduled to go back until November 30th. I do nursing home rounds 5 days a week before I head back to the hospital so lots of turning, bending, twisting let alone my bag that I carry room to room is like 15. So just going to what Dr DiNick tells me..

I was heavy when I started at the hospital but I already had worked for the big shot local ortho doc and I am sure that helped.. but unfortunately you are right I think severly obese people have a much harder time getting a job. Sad world we live in..

I am so glad your both having swelling and I am not just doing something wrong.......sigh of relief here.
I have have been back in jeans for 3 weeks or so now. I have come to the conclusion that once the swelling is gone I may need to get some size 6 jeans....So that is what I told hubby he can get me for Christmas.

The little bit of work that I do know is at a coffee house.  I take the orders and make coffee but I do not make the food or dig in the fridge for anything.  I also take the money for the purchases.  I do know that I have to slow down and only work the one day a week that I started to do.  I am so uncomfortable in the eveing that I take a pain pill just to be able to go to sleep.  This is so much harder than I thought that it would be.  I was looking forward to just sitting around and doing nothing.  LOL.

How is life withouth the binder?  Will I be happier or will I still want to wear it?  I have a love hate relationship with it currently.  I go and see Dr. Hing on Friday Nov. 6 but I am not sure what is going to come of it.  I think I will be able to sleep with out the binder but am a little nervouse of going without it.
