Dr. Taylor told me to have it at least 2 weeks before surgery. Time was tight but I had it yesterday - 3 weeks before, at my doctors office. She did the seasonal flu shot at the same time as the H1N1. She said if only having one - it needed to be H1N1 first, but both at the same time was fine. Good luck!

Update on my H1N1 shot ...... no side effects at all! Can't even say i had a sore arm from it. I am not glowing, nor do I work like a thermometer, nor am I will embalmed......hunnnn what a let down. 
I found out yesterday I can get the seasonal flue shot any time I want....seems they have a lot of the vaccine. I am going to give it 14 days to let the H1N1 shot kick in before I get the seasonal one.
As a side note, we did follow an ambulance to the place we got our H1N1 shot.... a young girl had a reaction to her shot. So please do take care, if you have had a reaction to previous vaccinations or you are hypersensitive to eggs.
