Hi Everybody,
I am 9 days post op and I have completed the clear liquids and currently on full liquids. Does anyone know if its possible to start pureed foods earlier than scheduled? I think my metabolism is slowing down and wondering if I should start pureed foods. I am eating 6 times a day on the full liquids but not losing any weight. Can anyone help? __________________

First of all, the first six weeks are for healing and are not for losing, so forget the scales. Don't look at them. Follow the program as it has been given to you. If you lose during this time, it is a bonus! Any weight you have lost so far is probably just the excess fluid that they pumped into you while you were in the hospital anyway. This may be a downer post to you; not meant to be. It's just the truth. Make sure you are getting your fluids in and your protein in and that you are MOVING. These are your jobs to do as well as sticking to the programs.
If you are really concerned that you are ready to go to the next level already, then call your nutritionist (NUT). We can't answer that question. We (members on this board) are not experts. But your NUT is an expert and can answer that question. But my best guess is that she will tell you that you have to stay on the program as originally outlined for you and that the first six weeks are for healing and are not for losing, just like the Barix book tells you that you got at PATs!
Be patient. This is a great tool and it is a great program and the pounds will disappear--the inches will melt away and you will be a whisp of your former self in just a few months. You will be amazed. Be sure to watch out for all of the WOW! moments. And take a picture now! And take your measurements now! And take pictures and measurements every few weeks along the way!
Welcome to the loser's bench, too!
