Hi there everyone!! I am just starting this journey...my consult is not until February, but I am trying to be as prepared as I possibly can..........this time. I had Gastric ByPass done in Guelph ON 20 years ago. There were no support groups, no support period after surgery. I lost about 60 pounds of weight, then found out I was pregnant, then had another child 3 years later. Now I am back to my starting weight + and have many health issues. My intention is to use all the supports I can, and ask alot of questions!!! I have read a few of the threads on here already and you all seem so welcoming, non-judgemental, helpful and kind. I look forward to sharing my journey with you all!!

There are a number of us on the boards from Ontario. I'm from Wiarton, but all of my family is in the KW area. Do as much research as you need to make yourself more comfortable. This message board is the BEST and in my opinion, Barix is the best one for all of our needs. Best of luck to you, and I'm looking forward to seeing you on the boards

OHIP denied my application October 16, 2009 due to needing a facility which has an ICU (because they told me my BMI is over 55) and Barix does not have this

Congrats on the move up for your consult! I am in Windsor and if you're passing thru or want support on any day you're here just holler  I go over to Michigan a lot so it's never any problem  |
